For the last few years my personal cars and have been SUV’s and driving the Cayenne Turbo was the ultimate experience in the past but cars in this segment are getting more and more luxurious with 2016 being the year of luxury SUV’s.
Recently I drove the all-new Jaguar F-PACE, which is positioned, as a performance crossover for those who love driving, with unrivalled dynamics and everyday usability.
Working in a fast paced city like Dubai means a lot of multi-tasking so the spacious handcrafted cabin and large 650-litre luggage compartment were a definite bonus when driving the F-Pace. The school drive was certainly more palatable as well with the sophisticated InControl Touch Pro, an advanced infotainment system, designed in-house by Jaguar Land Rover to make the morning journey easier and more connected.
My teenager found the 10.2-inch tablet-style touchscreen intuitive, easy to use and we both loved the fact that we could connect up to eight devices on the Wi-Fi hotspot, transforming the vehicle into a mobile office or entertainment centre. The 12.3-inch HD instrument cluster with four visual themes and full-screen 3D navigation display was easy to use.
The navigation system can save you time by learning your commute, offers true door-to-door guidance and can even advise others of your arrival time.
The all-new Jaguar F-PACE is essentially a performance crossover designed and engineered to offer the agility, responsiveness and refinement that all Jaguars are renowned for, together with everyday versatility..
The all-new F-PACE seats five occupants in absolute comfort. The interior is a perfect blend of premium materials and finishes, exquisite detailing, luxuries such as heated, electrically-reclining rear seats.
The Lightweight Aluminium Architecture gave the design and engineering teams the ideal starting point. It was created from the outset as a modular structure, so the wheels can be positioned exactly where they are needed to deliver the proportions, dynamics, and practicality essential for a performance crossover.
With the 380PS supercharged V6 petrol engine from the F-TYPE under its sculpted aluminium bonnet, the all-new F-PACE can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 5.1 seconds before reaching an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph.
For the most enthusiastic drivers there’s Configurable Dynamics: first used in the F-TYPE, this feature allows individual settings for the throttle, automatic transmission, steering, and, where fitted, the Adaptive Dynamics system.
The bold, upright front grille is not only assertive, reinforcing the all-new F-PACE’s all-surface potential, but also contributes to the all-new F-PACE’s aerodynamic efficiency. The power bulge extends the full length of the aluminium bonnet to emphasise the vehicle’s performance credentials.
Designed and engineered for exceptional on-road dynamics and all-surface, all-weather ability, the all-new F-PACE has been designed and engineered for the most stringent global crash test requirements.
Achieving these goals while at the same time reducing vehicle weight is a great challenge, but one the Jaguar has been able to solve and hence offer superior ride control and experience.
